These courses are suitable both for those looking to make a career in restoration / conservation and for those who wish to restore antiques as a hobby. Training will be tailored to the individual student’s ability and experience.
Only one student per course per week. This individually-tailored course allows students the opportunity to experience Yannick’s workshop, to observe his craftsmen at work and to learn from Yannick himself. It is not a full-time tutored course but you can expect to receive around 13 hours of one-to-one tuition from Yannick over the course of the week. The students will be expected to bring with them an antique piece of furniture which they will endeavour to restore using our facilities under Yannick’s guidance. Each student’s piece will present different challenges, be they of woodworking, veneering or metal working. There will be plenty of opportunities to try out a new technique first on new materials before working on your antique. Additionally, if you cannot find or afford an antique we can help you and can advise you on what and where to buy.
